Barking at windows and fences

You would think this post should be in the 'Keeping the peace at home' unit. But did you know that if your dog barks at fences and windows, they are more likely to lunge at dogs and people on walks? And it makes that much harder to fix?

The solution? Prevent (tips below) + redirect (passerby = treats on mat).

WINDOWS: I use static window film across the lower part of the window. It is a simple solution that lets light through for you, but blocks your dog's view. You can get it from hardware stores and remove it easily later.

FENCES: I never let Django in the front yard unless I am there to redirect any issues because this is such a common cause of problems as dogs begin to mature. If needed, screen the fence to block the view through gaps. Consider if you can add a gate or spacer fence. If you aren’t sure what to do, you can post a photo or share a video in the Facebook forum.
