Part one: Preparation workshop

Preparing your dog for the arrival of your new baby

This fun, honest, small-group workshop is designed to take the pressure off you and your dog when you bring home a new baby. You’ll learn everything you’ll need to know and make a personalised plan for your own family. These small group workshops are held regularly over two weekly zoom sessions of 90 minutes each so you and grandparents can tune in from home after work and try out your plan between sessions. The workshop is also available occasionally as a single 3h in-person workshop in Ripponlea on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

We cover:

  • The reasons dogs can misbehave and how to keep things calm and friendly

  • How to prepare before the baby arrives - to make your life easier later

  • The right way to introduce your baby to your dog

  • Tips for living safely and peacefully with dogs and babies

By the end of the session you’ll have:

  • A personalised plan to prevent problem behaviour and create a safe, peaceful home for your baby

  • A list of things you can prepare to make life easier later

  • A detailed reference manual, so you don’t have to remember everything and can easily educate family and babysitters

Prepare for your baby’s safety and your dog’s happiness, so you can enjoy settling into life with your new baby.
